The photo challenge for this week is “change”.  We are asked to show photos that represent change.

I have to say that the word “change” brought many thoughts into my head.  Life in a big family equals perpetual change.  Some of my children are changing in stature, while many of them are changing/evolving into full adulthood.  All of us (everyone in the family), I pray, are changing  into becoming the best version he/she can be.

And that’s where I get my inspiration for this post.  Because I am getting “older” and having some health issues  AND I don’t take care of myself enough, I have decided to try to change and become the best version of myself.  Therefore, I need to take some steps.

  1. Eat right (and lose weight in the process).  I have been drinking green smoothies  (fruit and kale or spinach) every day since December.  I have lost 10 lbs but more importantly, I am eating better.

  2. Regular exercise.  I have discovered Zumba and I absolutely love it.  At the end of each song,  no matter how grueling the workout, I still have the desire to do another song.  No workout regiment has ever had that kind of effect on me.IMG_0275
  3. Get enough sleep.  I am a night-owl but my schedule requires me to get up early.  This is my biggest challenge.  I need to make sure I get enough rest.

  4. Schedule quiet reflection time with God.  Having regular prayer has always been a struggle for me but I know I need prayer in order to become the best me I possibly can be.  Learning about God’s love for me can only help me.IMG_5843

Doing all this will bring about positive change in my life.  I know I will fall several times, but I know these are necessary steps to take in order to be really who I am supposed to be.  And maybe someday, I will be able to fit in this. 🙂IMG_0269
