Designed by British landscape architect Kim Wilkieto, the Green Wall at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA was built to resemble a lush, green jungle. At 4,200 square feet, it is the largest “green wall” in North America. The wall contains 47,000 plants, provides oxygen, and cleans dust from the air. The Green Wall houses seventeen award-winning bathrooms. In fact, the bathrooms hold the 2014 title of “America’s Best Restroom”.

This looks like a very peaceful place. A place to visit when you want to get away from stress and work 🙂 Good to visit in both winter and summer too!

I missed it the first time I visited after it was built too! It is way in the corner of the East Conservatory – sort of near the entrance closest to the cafe. I have been to Longwood several times now and I keep discovering something new that I hadn’t seen before.

Yeah, Longwood Gardens is always creating new gardens/areas that are in tune with the environment. One of my favorite places to visit.

Living walls are the in thing now. What a great share for this challenge. Love those ferns.

Yes! Highly recommended! If I lived closer to Longwood Gardens, I would be there at least once a month! Right now, it takes us 2 and half hours to get there. Thank you for stopping by and commenting!

I would love to visit Longwood Gardens one day. Living walls are very popular, but this is unlike any other I’ve seen. 🙂

This is an amazing Living wall. Thanks for sharing.
PS. I found fantastic to read that you’re a mom of 9. I’m the 5th from a family of 8. It’s wonderful to be part of a big family.

Hello Lucile! Thank you for visiting and your lovely comment! I am actually the oldest of 8 and I married a 5th of 8. We didn’t plan it but we ended up with one more than our moms did. 🙂 Have a great Thursday!

Amazing a bit of greenery amongst a bit of cement and concrete can calm spirit and soul. This is a wonderful project. There should be more of these.
Thank you for sharing! 🙂
