I am finding a serendipitous nature of participating in these weekly In a Vase on Monday photo challenges. Even though I know what plants are growing in my garden, I never know what I will find blooming in my garden from week to week. So with a little creativity, a bunch of pretty flowers and greens, and a vase, the end result is always beautiful.
This week is no different with a beautiful combination of reds and greens – not a combination I would come up on my own but one that works so well. A sort of Christmas in July. 🙂
My lovely Lenox vase which was a wedding gift to us over 31 years ago contains rich red zinnias, Annabelle Hydrangea (Hydrangea arborescens ‘Annabelle’) which is white when it first blooms and then turns into this lovely shade of green, white echinacea, yarrow (Achillea ‘Moonshine’), variegated Solomon’s Seal (Polygonatum odoratum ‘Variegatum’), hosta, ferns, and yellow day lily (Hyperion).
