During these past couple weeks of snow storms, many trees were damaged. It’s been sad to see the damage all over my area.
But on this Thankful Thursday, as I look out at my backyard, I can say that our beautiful black walnut tree is still standing. It stands majestically in the center of our yard. It provides shade in the summer but also it holds two swings. The longer rope swing (not entirely seem in the picture) has provided countless hours of fun for my kids and kids in the neighborhood. I cannot say how many trips to “Jupiter” were made while “flying” on the big rope swing but it’s pretty much a daily occurrence even in the winter.
I find it’s in the simple things of life where we can find beauty and a reason to smile. If we can be grateful for the little things, life is much sweeter.
What are you thankful for?

Such a lovely wintery photo. It also sounds like there was lots of fun to be had on that simple swing, like afternoons of fun and something to do at home. A little imagination goes a long way. This week I am thankful for quiet moments where I can just rest and relax 🙂

I’m grateful that somewhere in New Jersey, someone is feeling happy about their snow-covered Black walnut tree!! 😉
